last full day in Fuzhou

Hi,
What a week this has been.  We love the city of Fuzhou!  The people are nice and our guide Tracey has been great.  We've been "taking it easy" and doing only a few things per day.  It's been nice to get to know each other better.  Ava's doing great-still with ups and downs.  She's still trying to grasp what's going on.  Today in the taxi she sat on Frankie's lap-how cute!!  We went shopping today and bought some local items from her home city.  We're planning on visiting her foster mother tomorrow.  We agree that it will help her close this chapter.  I know it'll be hard on her at first, but our guide tells us that it should be less than before and she'll show more of her true self quicker than if we didn't do this.  She still thinks (I think) that when we go out, she'll see her foster mom-it breaks our hearts.  I know she'll be fine in the long run and that's what matters most-whatever it takes to help her through this. Please keep us in your prayers.  We are just smitten with her.  Her smile just melts your heart.  Frank bought her a jade bracelet that she wears proudly.  Can't wait to show her to all of you.  We're such a proud family!!

downtown Fuzhou

our first taxi ride in downtown Fuzhou after seeing the pandas. Leaving for Guangzhou in a couple of days. Our guide is fabulous. Still deciding on whether to agree to Ava saying goodbye to foster mom on Friday. Please pray we make the right decision. Ava's doing great. Still a little sad at times but we're starting to see more of her personality now. talk again soon.

Which Mom is the real one?

Poor little Ava cannot understand who's her mama. she's seen my mother, and today, she seems to get a lot better. little by little she gets better @ knowing who's her mama. she's been playing w/ us all day, and she had a huge smile on her face! that smile will remain once she knows who her real mother is. well, we'll train her to love us just as much as she loved her foster mother, if not WAY more! love you all!                          - Frankie Patton

2nd full day with Ava

Words canot begin to describe what I feel right now.  This little person holding onto me tightly is one of the best feelings.  I'm also very proud of Frankie who is an excellent Ge Ge (brother).  He is so patient and kind with Ava.  What a special adventure we're having. Today was kind of a chill day. It was nice to take a break from the sightseeing and just relax.  Tomorrow we'll go to the Panda park for a little while.  Talk to you soon.  We love you!!

My New sister is finally here! for years i remember asking my parents about when we were going to get her. the same answer as always: I don't know! but all those idks are finally gone, because now we finally have her! kudos to us for being so patient, and everyone else for making us get this far! thank you evryone and our new miracle is here!

Yesterday was a whirlwind. We had a mix-up getting to the airport from Beijing. Then we landed in Changle-rode an hour to our hotel and then ran upstairs to meet her 10 minutes later. She did great!! Some tears in the beginning and a few times last night, but she knows who we are from the picture book we sent and we are getting to know each other well.

yesterday was one of the most amazing days of my life. to have little zhu ying call me "babba" (daddy) and wrap her small arms around my neck touched my very soul. this whole, wild odysey is so very worth all the effort and frustration we endured.
"jesus loves me, this i know". . . kind of says it all.
